Starting our Music Video

Hi Blog! It’s Mercedes again and today I’m just going to let you all know how our process is going for our Music Video. Adarius and I were all set to make our music video for Media Studies. We picked Beyoncé's "Irreplaceable" for our song; it felt just right for our project. Our plan was to keep it simple – just the two of us in a car, no big production. We started by brainstorming ideas for the video. Our schedules were all over the place, making it tough to find a time to film. We juggled classes, work, and personal stuff, and it wasn't adding up. We tried to adjust our plans, like filming on weekends, but that didn't work out either. The project deadline is creeping up, putting more pressure on us. We talked about using stand-ins for some scenes, but it just didn't feel right. We kept in touch, sharing our schedules and trying to find common ground. Our due date isn’t for a little while, which was a relief, but we still needed to make it happen. We decided to focus on a more straightforward video concept to keep it doable. Our storyline revolved around driving in a car, keeping things simple. Even though we had to scale back, we were determined to make it work. The important thing was to finish the project and represent the song as best we could. We knew we couldn't go all out with crazy locations and a big cast, but that was okay. Beyoncé's song was all about being strong and independent, which inspired us. The message of the song guided our planning, focusing on empowerment. We might not be able to do anything too wild, but we were excited to bring our vision to life. It’ll be just the two of us in the video, but we’re determined to make it work in our own simple, meaningful way.
